Another City is Possible was a work commissioned by NorrlandsOperan and the city of Umeå for the 2008 MADE festival. The installation was built with flowers, pallets and cable drums and inspired by another city: Istanbul. Istanbul’s beautiful mosque, Hagia Sofia, is in this version just emerging out of the pavement of Operaplan in central Umeå. Utopian discussions were organized in the installation focusing on what to change and add to our own city.
